KIdZ on youtube! “Di Hari Raya” and “Selamat Hari Raya” (Lagu Bajau)

Right!  The hardworking KIdZ have been helping us to hear their new compositions. Here are their two Raya songs for 2011 on youtube, new songs in Malay and Bajau!

Here is the original review:

In conjunction with the Hari Raya celebration this year, the KIdZ want to send their greetings to all their friends through two songs!

“Di Hari Raya” and “Selamat Hari Raya” (Lagu Bajau)
(Composer/lyrics: SH. Kassim Bin Sh. Indun)
Produced and published by Element Tree Music House.

When I think of the KIdZ from Kudat, I think of these young geniuses playing ROCK, with the wildest, fastest, hardest guitar solos, and their heads bobbing up and down in rhythm.

“Di Hari Raya” is quite different from that! It is an uplifting song filled with optimism. The KidZ sing about meeting relatives and having fun, and how this time is a chance to forgive and strengthen the bonds between each other. They describe radiant faces, and wounded souls being healed as the seeds of love are sown again.

Blaqz’s voice is warm and full of good feelings about this special time of year. There are sweet guitar solos, and tinkling pretty riffs from Mok’s keyboards throughout.

“Selamat Hari Raya” (Lagu Bajau) has more of an edge. The melody is more dramatic, in a minor key, and has a Middle Eastern quality about it. There’s a really nice acoustic guitar solo done in gambus style, in the middle. Blaqz is a versatile singer, this is quite a different style from the first song. And I can hear some rock guitar :).

To make a song for the people you love is a wonderful gift. The KIdZ from Kudat have made us TWO gifts! How lucky we all are. TQ KIdZ.
